With more than 120 years of combined experience, a collaborative environment and an unbending focus on defining and achieving our clients’ objectives, the seven members of our team work every day to provide a different approach to wealth management. Read the bios below in order to get to know each financial advisor on our team.
Jonathan Soden
Managing Partner
Jon is one of the five founding partners of Magellan Financial.
After nearly a decade as a small business owner, Jon joined Legg Mason as a financial advisor in 2002. Jon found that owning a health club (Body Dynamics) was a great experience, but selling allowed him to follow his passion for personal finance and investing.
While still at Legg Mason he joined with his current partners in 2006. Working as a part of an advisory team allowed Jon to provide better advice to his clients without compromising the quality of service. As a part of that commitment to service and advice, they opened Magellan Financial in December 2009.
In addition to working with individual clients he is also responsible for overseeing the corporate retirement plans, the day-to-day decisions in actively managed accounts, as well as, the outside marketing.
Jon truly believes we all need to make the world a better, more sustainable place. He gives to several organizations, but his main focus has been:
- The Bethlehem Food Co-Op – Member #4 and one of the original Board Members of what will be a locally-owned full-service grocery store that will eliminate a food desert and provide high-quality food to an underserved community.
- Sustainability efforts at Moravian University – In 2007 he funded the Soden Trust for Sustainability and later helped seed a revolving loan fund (GreenHound Fund) that helps reduce the university’s environmental impact.
In Jon’s spare time, he is a competitive runner and triathlete who has completed 30 marathons, 6 Ironman Triathlons, and more smaller races than he will ever admit to. Training and racing keep him healthy and as long as he is healthy he will continue to race!
